“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”

To get your Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) or Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI), you simply need to take and pass the appropriate FAA knowledge exams – Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI), Ground Instructor (Advanced or Instrument). There are vendors out there that sell questions/answers bank to help prepare for these tests.
However, if you are in this to really become an effective teacher of aviation, then you would need the same classroom training that a Flight Instructor applicant needs to pass the CFI practical test.
We run this ground school all year long – AGI – 2 weeks, IGI – 1 week. The ground school includes all the lesson plans and the reference materials you would need to be that best ground instructor you can be.
